Okay finally, exams. I guess everyone is just DYING to get the exams over so they can do stuff that they enjoy. No more HOMOs & LUMOs, group metals, probabilities and the list is almost endless.
For me its back to work ! I need to get my money for next semester ;) aw. so sad
No holds barred tonight at 11.55pm. Its Manchester United v Chelsea. May the Red Army march all over Chelsea and give them the blues.
Welcome to the THEATRE OF DREAMS and stop DREAMING Chelsea. We are impregnable
As the exams draw closer, personal breakdowns are really going to occur for the unwary. Keep yourself upbeat, happy.
If you're really stressed. Stop. Take a moment. Listen to Class 95 ( or any other stations you like). Drink a glass of water. Call someone to talk to for awhile. It will help.
Study too long and it gets to you.
Come on, if you breakdown now how many times more do you have to breakdown ? 5 more times in your whole NUS life? :)
Oo. My exams starts tomorrow, starting with a language paper.
How interesting. Though it doesnt contribute any modular credit but I think I ought to give it my best since its an exam. And not to let my tutor down after all the hard work she put in to teach us. :)
Living with Mathematics is really an interesting module. Less the probability, less the combinations. They are r r really a pain in the butt!
Mailed the tutors and the professors also no replies. Guess they must be busy setting a real hard test paper to take revenge on student who miss lectures regularly. Poor us, those who attend without failure must bear the brunt too HAHA.
LOST's Fall Season Ends November 8; Show Returns February 7 On November 8, Lost will air its final episode of the Fall Season, "I Do." The show will then be replaced by the new Taye Diggs show Day Break. But don't fret! Lost will be back on February 7, 2007! The show will then air all-new episodes with no reruns every week starting February 7 until its May season finale. So don't miss this week's episode, "I Do"! Producers promise a cliffhanger that will leave us wanting more!
Haha, no wonder i couldnt find any more new episodes on Lost anymore.
Good for me, I have nothing to look forward to watch already. :) Less distractions
Till i blog again ..
The Adverse Effects of Arts Modules on Science Students.
After exposure to geography module this semester, I'm begining to feel that Arts modules should only be left to ARTS students and Science Students should stick to SCIENCE modules.
This transculturation of exchange and exposure to ARTS modules are no doubt good for the overall development of a holistic education, but its really taking its toll.
This is even so in a nature of a SCIENCE student point of view. Because we are so used to memorising stuff and all.
Arts module is really 100% more interesting than SCIENCE subjects because it deals with living culture which is what we are experiencing everyday. To tackle ARTS module requires alot of reading of articles provided by the lecturers, 'sipping' all the avaliable information and start jotting down notes to make your life easier.
And whats worst, haha language also play a pivitol role. So, its like facts + language = good results. It all adds up to alot of preparation. If you think an Arts module is easy, think again. And the worst thing is, I still have one more obligatory ARTS module to take up in my compulsary study schedule in NUS.
How? Haha, swallow it like a warrior. Till i blog again ..
This was my expression when wayne rooney scored midway through the 1st half to equalise at 1-1 after Sheffield gave me a shock when they took the lead in the 10th minute? :)
Top of the table nonetheless as usual. Tough test against Chelsea.
Alright, the exams are really coming. Start of reading week, end of slacking. :(
Got a math book from the library with shaobin. Ya ya, shaobin must be smiling away cause she was the one who suggested to borrow that book while we were searching on the LINC network.
Nonetheless it was a great find. Everything in one book. Differentiation, Integration, Double Integral and FOURIER series questions all in one, matrix..
Today at language class, it was rather fun to see everyone back together in the same class again. Maybe sometimes you never notice that you would miss some stuff until you lose it. Strange feeling I had. Maybe I'm getting crazy I guess :)
What a bad time to find out that Lost Season 3 started. Oh my god I love this show like flies to shit haha. It really a nice show if you haven't watched.
Now I must force myself to only watch during meal period and not other times. :) so hard to resist.
I must meditate with my books in order to tide over the exam ordeal. :)
So to everyone and anyone that reads this post.. Jia You ? Don't give up.. It sounds abit lao tao, but don't give up studying.. (: If not come to NUS for what?
Today was the last lab session for the entire 1st Sem. I thought it was a great lab session owing to the fact that i got an easy solution to start with. The moment i saw, green solution i thought i had (fe 3+ , ps: its Iron (III) if you dont know (: ) So it was quite a breeze furthermore my friend had the same soln as i did so I could double confirm my observations with him secretly.
Today there are quite a number of stuffs I found that last Lab Session was very fun :
1. I got to talk to stephanie, okay it was nothing special. But it was the last lab session with her cause I don't know whether next semester if she was going to take the same slot as me again. But anyway while I was washing my test tube by the sink, she came over and washed hers and that was when I spoke to her for awhile. So.. ya :")
2. Suddenly alot of people spoke to me during lab. People that never bothered about your existence or too engrossed with their stuffs. Suddenly came to ask me how to do certain procedures. I was pleasantly surprised
3. The centrifuging machine The machine where you place your solution in a centrifuging tube and place inside to spin so that the solution and the precipitate will separate out. Apparently this happened. This malay girl (looked alot like a pretty chinese girl (: ) placed two centrifuging tubes together side by side and started the machine. By right you're suppose to place it opposite each other to balance the spin when the machine starts. If there is imbalance during the spinning, the machine will cut off its power and stop the spin. BUT IT DIDNT!!!! The power was off but the thing was spinning out of CONTROL -_-!~ At that time i was doing my observation writings at my fumehood ( everyone is designated one in the lab) until i heard this very loud vibration sounds coming from 2 fumehoods from mine cause i was the last person of the row and the machines were therefore placed 2 fumehoods away from mine so the entire area could share to use it.
So back to the story ... I looked over and I saw her(malay girl) looking over at me. I asked her..
Me : "Eh, What happened?" She: " Huh, I don't know!" Me: " Is it going to explode? :)" *jokingly(at this time the machine was vibrating out of control) She: "Oh my god! please don't or we will die" Me: -_- ya right.
In a stroke of brillance, I instinctively pulled out the electrical wire connected to the machine and apparently saved everyone from a potential disaster only to be WRONGED by the Lab TA. She thought i stupidly placed 2 centrigufing tubes inside not opposite each other causing the unnecessary commotion. Thanks haha, for helping i got wronged, but it was alright :) I don't mind.
The malay girl was so embarassed that she apologised to me.
But it was alright.
Again, we were late for lecture due to the Lab.
After school, it was raining pretty heavily but I still made my way to the library via the long detour.
I went to the 6th floor to place my bag and came down to the computer lab to print my notes till I saw....................................................................................................................................Ming Min
Ming Min walked out from the book/journal section which was next to the computer lab. I was actually thinking of smsing her and she appeared magically. Such a coincidence.
I accompanied her for lunch since she was alone. Strange enough, it wasnt raining when we came down from the library to walk to the canteen. When she went off with her friends, it started to rain heavily AGAIN.
How suay can I be, I thought.
Again, I walked back to the library by the long way again. Haha, as I was walking I couldnt believe how suay I can be.
After that I took my stuff and left the library after printing some notes and talking to Shaobin who was studying with Agnes ;"). Why? you jealous I talk to agnes huh hahaha. JUST KIDDING.
Haha, i went to school only to miss the first lecture because my friends and I reached the bottom of LT 32 at 10.30 am when the lecture suppose to start at 10am.
So.............. I ended up going to the University Hall beside LT 32 (ps: sorry for those who havent been to NUS, the University Hall is beside along the slope to LT 32) Oh yea back to the story :) and i ended up in Spinelli's and drinking a cup of hot mocha. The place was really good. Relaxed environment, nice hot RED seats and yar.
Just beautiful place. The tarts and cakes are amazing there if you havent been there although i havent tried it yet cause i didnt buy today, just a cup of hot mocha cause i was rather tired, NEED COFFEE haha. Suddenly coffee becomes a necessity in a university student's life. Really. Dont believe me ask anyone in NUS, if they never drink coffee to lower their fatigue level, i will close down my blog (: hahaha. Seriously.
The grandiose University Hall is really an ultra furbished upscale piece of building in the whole of NUS. In geography terms, it seems like imagining the whole of NUS has undergone 'weathering' while the University Hall hasnt at all. And Science FAC seems to be the most 'weathered' one. Means its darn old la! haha if you havent understand what im talking about toot. Im the making of a brilliant geography student by just taking one geography module.
After that it was as usual, to 2 more lectures to 4pm and 1 tutorial to 5pm. I went to the library to lend my favourite book, no, not Atkins, but Catherine. Haha another bible which is more simplied in english and not bombastic as Atkins.
Oh yeah, sorry ShaoBin, i kept the phone in my bag so i didnt know you came to the library to find me after your lecture. Haha, made you walk the whole sixth floor of the library reading area. LOL im so guilty :)
Everyone has to know its existence if your in chemistry.
This book is driving everyone nuts, though i'm still sane.
The exams are coming already. Everyone is going to study, mug, kill each other, sap each other's intelligence. So sad. Competitive Culture of NUS. People just study for the sake of studying at the expense of enjoyment. Thats the truth in NUS. Sad RIGHT?!!
Had an interesting english conference with Ming Min and Miss Ng. Haha, its was really interesting though it only lasted for 15 minutes. It was the last lesson already for this semester. Time really files. No more joking around with Mabel aka the professor in writing EXTREMELY long essays when a short one was needed and Shaobin aka mad cha bor that laughs non stop and mingmin aka Miss Malaysia No.1 in everything and Tianxi aka Miss Sleepy and michelle and Zhou Jie Lun and many more from english class. Can't name them all.
Oh i forgot, our dear Miss Ng. She's really a good teacher just that sometimes she's just too blur and mixes things up.
Quote Miss Ng : "Shao BING, oh sorry always call your name wrongly. Shao BIN" "Ming Min and Ming Shun sounds the same"
Well, thats how things are. :) just have to move on and hope that we might all end up in a same tutorial next time for some other module okay?
Seems like my blog getting quite alot of frequent readers, which is good haha! (:
Today I had lunch with Shaobin + Ming Min = Impossible combination
I cannot believe i could have lunch together with both of them together considering the fact that we never had lunch together before today. Haha. Yaya, you must be =_= right?
The laksa was really nice but i was sniffing all the way to the library. I can still feel the laksa in my stomach. Thanks SHAOBIN haha.
Went to the library. Sat together with shaobin and magan and did stuffs till 6pm and i left with magan.
Nothing interesting today except lunch.
Oh yeah, today's experiment was the 1st time ever worst ever screw up ever and ever and never and ever. All the readings all wrong compared to others. I was so pissed off. ROAR!
