Blood d d d. . ....
Oh Hey! Its been a long time since i updated my blog. Oh yesterday was a kind of a meaningful day in my life. The first time i ever seen so much blood leave my body into a medical bag and stored away for some fine day to be used. Yes, i went for a blood donation for the first time in my life. It turned out fine although i was rather puzzled at what was going to happen since it was the first time. Had some wierd forms to fill up asking whether we had sex with a female? sex with a male ? and sex with a female and male? Gosh? haha you guys at the bloodbank are wierd man ahha! got me spinning with your questionaires.
While i was waiting on the comfortable couch waiting, i looked at everyone around me and the nurses. They were really professional in the stuff they do. Very comforting indeed. Ok, they passed me some post blood donation stuff and a card to donate another time in the next 3 mths if i was still interested. Talked to all the nurses who attended to me and asked alot of questions like why was it 3 mths? why this? that? haha i think thought i was too talkative coz i was the only one there talking lotsa rot while the rest was like silent in their seats squeezing the red juice outta them. :)
A local anaesthetic on the right arm and the YAKULT like steel needle complete with a chielsed head into the vein on the arm. Not bad, I took like 5 mins and i had 250 ml of blood into the bag! Surprise Surprise! haha i thought i was fast. It was quite cool at the end to know that the gesture i done in the last 5 mins was worth it. It was an act of altruism (ok, i think i've gone too far) :D haha.
To tell the truth, i didnt know that senior warrent was a ardent blood donor. He is like a few more donations to becoming a diamond champ of champ donor(equates to around 125 or 150 donations, i forgot) . His name is even on the board outside. He sat there giving up his plasma and he is like 50 + . I was amazed and decided that next time i wanted to do that too. There were very few people there in the room donating them, which told me that i had to donate the next time around. Ooo.. and the whole process is like 2 hrs did i mentioned? haha , very different from donating blood. There was this machine that filters all the things out of ur blood and returns the blood to you. How gross is that! haha nah just kiddin ya. Oh ya, there is also 5 movies titles to choose from while you are donating. Good to catch up on shows that you wanted to watch but missed last time :D haha how cheapskate.
Went off from there and off to Raffles Place to have a meal. At first we decided to have Ta Lu Xia Mian but we went there and had Ta Lu Steamboat. Went to have a milo dinosaur and started heading back to the mrt.
Caltex house was where winnie worked I recalled so i decided that i drop by there and see her for a moment. She was at the toy shop in the corner facing the MRT. She was still as glamourous as ever and as shy. It was nice to see her after a long time. Some bitter sweet feeling eh :) Didnt talk much , just a casual hi-bye and off i went home..
